In detail, if your springs become worn and loose tension, it will cause erratic idle especially when the RPM's are decreasing. This new auto advance spring set has the right tension which will allow your motorcycle to rev smoothly throughout the RPM range and smoothly at idle. Works with most Triumph, BSA, & Norton singles, twins and triples from the 1960's through the 1970's that used an auto advance assembly in the timing cover.
