For a component that is used every time I take off and return from a ride, the center stand gets a lot of use. Especially on a 50+ year old bike. I’ve heard horror stories of center/kick stand dropping while riding (worse on apex of a turn) good springs are a must safety part on motorcycle stands. A pain to install but fits.

With this spring you'll need about 25 pennies to install it. Place one end of the spring in a bench vice and bend it back and forth to place a Penny between the coils until the spring is long enough to slip on the upper hook. Makes a tough job easy as pie.
