A "true" gearbox rebuild consists of your replacing worn-out mainshaft and layshaft bushings. Having the proper spec bushings is critical should you want a smooth operating transmission
Today we have mainshaft and layshaft replacement gear bushings - these are the bushing pressed into each gear. We have gears made by Andover Norton and some by sponsored vendors from the UK
Most bushings are made to work with Norton Commando models (750 & 850) as well as many early models with the AMC gear box including Matchless models. Please refer to your parts to ensure the best fitment
